Mutants and the Nation they Inhabit

The current year is early 2011. For over 150 years in the United States [especially], Superbeings have become a phenomenal force. With their powers they've often strive to help or ruin others. It wasn't until only over 50 years ago that an Institution had been found, and funded by a wealthy man, a man called Professor Maximus Lorenis. This Institution brought control, and stability to the activity, and way of life of various Superbeings called 'Mutants' born with the X-gene, a DNA complex responsible for the superpowers of the mutant population. The world still has its troubles trusting half of the mutant population, while the other half still aims to prove Mutants are superior to Humans - those mutants fed up with segregation, who refuse to share the ideology of becoming at peace with the Human race. This 'other half' has become its own organization of particularly ambitious, and powerful mutants who share an ideology unlike Professor Lorenis, one that revolves around the conquering of the world, and mutant supremacy, instead of mutant unity with Humanity. Because of the constant conflict between good and evil, selfish and selfless ideology within the United States, its own government is thinking of putting it all on hold, but, do they truly have the power to do so? Will they actually dedicate themselves to the direct control/supervision of mutants, despite their affiliations? A nation constantly in flux is a perilous one; with perilous adventures lying in wake.
