"I can refer you to the Detroit Academy of Grander Medicinal Practice, Overlord." Mickey Walburough, the Senator of Michigan informed his business partner, the Ruler of Terra Hereditas, Overlord. The two were sitting across from one another along a rectangular table, in the Senator Building's conference room. "They cannot afford these samples, they referred me to you, Senator." Overlord replied sternly. The Senator had no idea, the technology was certainly going to be expensive. "How much money do you want for 12 samples?" The Senator asked Overlord curiously. "Twelve-million dollars, Senator." Overlord replied, partly shadowed by the darkness of the conference room. "Twelve-million? For only 12 samples?!" The Senator rose his voice, and stepped up to Overlord's seated position. "You can't be serious? Don't you want to help people?!" The Senator demanded an answer. "Sit down, you vile ape." Overlord replied, the Senator sneered and sat down. "I could care less for the lives of your people, Senator. I demand cash, and if you want the hyper-antibodies then I demand one million dollars per sample." It was clear that Overlord wasn't negotiating this, what he desired was all that he'd want. "Unlike yourself, I have an entire Nation to run! I believe we are done here." Overlord was beginning to stand up. "Wait!" The Senator paused. "Fine. If you want twelve million, you'll need to prove that those samples are worth it! I want you here tomorrow, we'll prepare a test subject." The Senator replied eagerly. "Very well." Overlord lifted up his suitcase from the table's surface, and walked out slowly carrying the suitcase in one hand.

After his meeting with Senator Walburough, Overlord intended to take residence in a local hotel for the time being, since he'd be going to the Detroit Academy of Grander Medicinal Practice the next day. He began walking down the street, ignoring the looks given to him by the people of Detroit, who all either cowered in fear of his mighty presence, or laughed at the fact that he wore tights like many Mutants. His presence was open, and proud - none ever challenged Overlord, the Master of Motion unless they were Mutants themselves, brave Mutants. People here recognized Overlord as the Ruler of Terra Hereditas, but, they knew very little aside from that fact.

Looking up from a long list in her hand, she stared at the spices all lined up so pretty and symmetrical with a dull expression. Vanilla Extract, was the last ingredient on her long list, and it was no where to be found. Moving down the aisle, pushing a heavy shopping cart, she scooped up a bottle of Vanilla extract and placed it in her cart. Spending the next 5 minutes unloading and reloading her cart at the register, she departed with her hard earned cash and left the store, carrying the supplies in her arms. It was a fair day in Detroit, not too many clouds in the sky, nice temperature with some fair winds. Moving silently down the street she'd need to hail a cab to take her home, although she was going to be in trouble for sneaking out anyway, the institute was very secure on their curfew laws.

Standing on a street corner she extended her arm to hail a cab, when she heard an audible gasp rise behind her. Turning her head ever so slightly she caught glimpse of a man wearing purple and red tights, not very suspicious, only 2 types of people wore tights and in that color combination, and she was sure this man wasn't a Cosplayer. Lowering her arm, she hefted her supplies up onto her shoulders and turned towards the man walking in her direction. She took a few steps forward and than paused at the corner, so that when he reached it, she'd just turn and walk alongside him.

With a bored expression on her face she spoke up to the man, she was now trailing. Good Afternoon, Overlord. I know this may seem a bit out of place, regarding our circumstances, but could you be so kind as to give me a ride to the Lorenis Institute, You being the master of Motion, I'd assume it would be no trouble at all for one as yourself. There was no sarcasm in her tone, no 'cheekiness' that most kids her age had, just a very polite, almost friendly tone, the way a daughter would ask her father for a ride to the mall.

Overlord had been walking alone, minding his own business through the streets of Detroit. Nearby, he noticed an unfamiliar heart-beat signature, one that was unlike a normal human-beings. When he paused at a street corner (allowing cars to move along) he felt the signature ever so close to his position. He easily tracked whose heart was beating, and it appeared to be a young woman in her later teens - certainly a Mutant, or an Alien of some kind. Nonetheless he continued walking, feeling that it was in fact the young woman who wanted to speak with him. The young woman followed Overlord across the street, and greeted herself kindly, before asking whether or not Overlord could teleport her to the Lorenis Institute of Higher Learning. Without looking at her, and while walking, Overlord spoke up. "Ah, you are one of my kind." Overlord looked down at the young woman as he continued to speak. "It is not everyday that an X-Men approaches me for assistance; exactly who are you?" The Overlord asked curiously. There was no distaste in his tone, and you could tell he was simply a polite, well-spoken man; though Overlord has a dislike for Homo Sapiens, he aims to protect and preserve his own kind, Homo Sapiens Superior - though, it was admittedly a bit strange that an X-Men felt so comfortable speaking to him since the X-Men were clashing constantly with members of the Brotherhood of Mutants who make up the majority of the Mutants on Terra Hereditas.

Caylin ignored the stares of people around her, questioning why a young girl would be walking around with this man, who has been deemed dangerous by the population. It wouldn't take them long to realize that she was a "mutie", but that was something to be upset about for another day. My name is Caylin Blake, sir. We have met before, however the last time I saw you, you gave me and my classmates something akin to vertigo and our heads were spinning for hours. She had a short laugh at her classmates misfortune before returning to the matter at hand. I'm in town, picking up ingredients for a cake, however I have broken the curfew that my professors have placed on all skirmishes into the city, and so I'm in trouble, no matter how I return home. I assumed however, that if it were you who brought me home, and please forgive me for sounding presumptuous, if it were you, I'd be granted some leniency on the matter. She kept her eyes forward, not looking at the man, as she felt it would be rude to demand all this of him, and stare him down in the middle of 'civilization'.

The two continued speaking, and Overlord was still headed in the direction of one of the United States more luxurious hotels. It appeared that the Mutant who was now vaguely familiar to him with the alias of Nocturne did in fact clash with Overlord and his Brotherhood of Mutants. The memory was perhaps an unsettling one, or at least it should've been, but, those who interfered with Overlord, and his Mutant's agenda paid the price. "I admire your consideration, but, what would lead you to believe I am willing to go out of my way in order to take an X-Men back home despite my powers? Or, is that it?" He continued walking with Nocturne by his side. It wasn't until they hit another crossroad within the large city of Detroit, that an alarm went off almost immediately. "Give me all the money you've got!" A burglar, escorted by other burglars yelled from within a smaller bank just around the corner of the Overlord and Nocturne's position. Two of the burglar's henchman locked the bank up, and kept a close eye out at their surroundings - they'd have hostages in case their situation got ugly. Overlord looked in the direction of the bank. "It's disgusting how easily humans can betray one another. I don't understand why you X-Men tolerate their behavior when all they intend to do is suppress Mutant activity with their own government." It was obvious that Overlord hadn't intended to aid these innocent people, however, he did pause while speaking, still within range of the bank. Sirens could be heard in the distance.

I actually had no thoughts that you'd comply and send me home, but I thought it worth enough to try. She was going to bid the man farewell, before going back to the institute, but than sirens howled in the distance as a robbery took place in a bank not too far from where they stood. She stood indecisive, weighing the pros and cons of the situation. I suppose I'm to run in there risking my life to save the day, but if the people in there don't act out... than nothing bad will happen to them... right? Even after she said all that she knew what she would have to do. Making a gratuitous nod to Overlod, she unzipped her jacket and prepared herself for the worst. She placed her supplies on the ground and raised both of her hands as she began chanting, stepping closer to the corner, to get a good angle at what was happening. Pointing her right hand at the front door, she fired off a bolt, that connected with the glass window. It shattered upon contact, catching one of the robbers in the back, ripping through his cheap clothes, and single layer of Kevlar, subduing him. Stepping forward, she crouched next to the broken glass of the store, firing a second hex bolt at the second robber.

He saw it coming and rolled to avoid it, letting it crash into the back wall, causing a power outage in the whole bank. Pointing his rifle towards Caylin's position he fired off a few shots, as the other grabbed a hostage. She quickly ran to her right, covering her head, as if that would protect from the bullets. She stood outside, chanting to bring back her Hexbolts, as she tried to think of a way to save everyone in there.

Overlord smiled in response to what Nocturne had said, she still had the uncertainty of most youthful Mutants - and Overlord recalled himself being anything but uncertain, experiencing very negative events/setbacks throughout his lifetime. Before she headed back to the Lorenis Institute of Higher Learning a bank robbery was occurring not too far off from their position. Being an X-Men, Nocturne was taught to do what was politically right, and aid humanity despite their feelings towards Mutantkind. She approached the bank carefully, and examined the situation. Eventually she made her move, and from there, the action started. From a distance Overlord could tell that she was having somewhat of a difficult time thinking about how she'd deal with the entire hostage situation, it wasn't anything she was totally used to afterall; X-Men were taught to work together, and their specialty was in the field of cooperation and teamwork - alone their actions became a lot more difficult to achieve.

Overlord had grown somewhat fond of Nocturne, and decided he'd compensate for her lack of a functioning team. He put his briefcase down by the entrance of the bank; standing tall, he pushed open the bank's front door that's glass had been totally shattered by Nocturne's hexbolt. One of the robbers hide behind a counter, while the other had a gun pressed against the side of a woman's head. The rest of the innocents were all frozen in fear now not only due to the armed robbers, but, being in the presence of not one mutant, but two - and one being the Ruler of Terra Hereditas. "Back down, foolish Human; I do not want to have to remove your ability to think." Overlord threatened the burglar who held a hostage. "You stay away, freak! I'll blow her freaking brain's out!" The burglar with the hostage replied nervously, his eyes gaped open. "I'll give you one more chance to lower your weapon; Know that I'm not as patient as the X-Men you all have become so familiar of." He paused, standing tall. The armed burglar with a hostage began shivering, sweat trickled down the sides of his face. "I-I said back off! I'm going to KILL HER!" Without saying a word, Overlord stretched out his right arm, and opened up his fist, immediately thousands of thoughts were being forced into the hostage-holding burglar's mind. Shortly after his loud, terrifying screams, his brain was fried, and he dropped his weapon, and fell against the floor - drool spewing from his mouth.

The terrified hostage attempted to run off, out of the bank. This was when the other burglar desperately tried to regain control of the situation by firing one shot from his rifle at the escaping hostage. In order to counter the speedy projectile, Overlord reversed its direction as it backfired on the shooter seemingly from mid-air. The bullet shattered the part of the wall that the burglar had been in, if not for dodging out of the way, he probably would've been dead by now. "I assume you do not wish to die? Overlord commands you to put your weapon down!" The police cars had already been parked, and a couple of officers were headed towards the bank. Overlord had been keeping an eye on Nocturne the whole time, and he was expecting her to finish the job by disarming the burglar while he was distracted.

Nocturne, slowly creeped into the store as Overlord, jumped into the Fray and dispatched one of the robbers, before causing the other to look like a fool. She crept past the hostages on the floor, and while the man was occupied by Overlord she stepped up behind him and tapped him on his neck, with some force. He spun around, rage in his eyes at being defeated, as Caylin spun on her heel and brought her right leg up in a high kick motion, crashing against the side of his neck. He crumpled as she hit a nerve cluster, falling to the floor with a thud. Twirling her leg in the air, she brought it down to her side, as the officers, finished assessing the situation, ran into the building to see the robbers defeated and two people standing above the others. Caylin ignored the officers for a moment and looked towards Overlord, who had saved her.

Thank you, but might I ask what possessed you to aid an X-Man in battle against Humans, or was it the simple pleasure or knocking a few humans around? As she spoke this time, she had an ounce of cheekiness in her voice, and her tired expression was replaced with that of exhilaration at defeating these men, with her 'enemy'. A young police officer, approached Caylin and began asking her questions about the situation, to which she only looked over at Overlord, not knowing how to handle publicity like this.

Nocturne had noticed Overlord's distraction, and, as expected, she used it to her advantage. When the criminal was defeated by Nocturne's superior fighting ability, the cops had entered the scene. They first focused intently on the well-being of the hostages, and made sure they got out safely away from the Mutants who took it to themselves to intervene with the job of law enforcement. While hostages were being cared for, and brought to safety, Nocturne spoke up to Overlord who was standing next to her, but, facing the direction of the police. She wanted to know what drove Overlord to do what he did. "I cannot allow my own kin to die if I'm able to prevent it from happening, and under these circumstances." Overlord replied, he was afterall the recognized King of Mutantkind.

A police officer approached Overlord and Nocturne, they began questioning the two of them. "So, how did this all go down?" He had asked a very basic question. "...All that should matter to you is the fact that everyone being held hostage made it out alive." Overlord shoved the police officer to the side with ease as he continued walking forward, outside of the bank. He picked up his still briefcase, and Nocturne had been following closely behind. "I suppose now that I have a reason to return you to the Lorenis Institute personally. I can warp us both to the courtyard of the Lorenis Institute. Are you ready to leave?" Overlord had asked her politely.

Caylin crouched down by her bags and checked their contents to make sure that everything was still there. She scooped up her bags and placed them around her shoulders as she looked up at Overlord. Thank you, I'm about ready to leave here. Straightening herself out, she wondered if teleportation had the same sensation, no matter who invoked it. She looked around the street, noticing that people were watching the two standing together. This was something else that was gonna cause her no end of trouble, people had seen her face, the hostages, the police... she couldn't pass this off as a lie even if she wanted to... she was gonna get into so much trouble. Wow.... Wish there was some way to play this off when I got back.

Overlord was ready to teleport Nocturne to the Lorenis Institute courtyard along with himself. It was clear that she was concerned of her own well being, and knew all too well that she'd suffer some sort of consequence for openly disturbing the work of the Police Department; ultimately however, she saved lives - something the X-Men could probably relieve themselves with come her return to the Lorenis Institute. Overlord rested his hand on Nocturne's shoulder, and immediately they warped from Detroit, to the courtyard of the Lorenis Institute, where a few students had been reading, minding their own business. The two of them were far enough away to avoid attention (for now anyways). Overlord looked down at Nocturne, with a smile he spoke. "...But there is a way to rid yourself of the Institution's consequences." He paused, still looking at the girl. "You can always return with me to Terra Hereditas, a sanctuary for Mutantkind - a Nation intended for our kind specifically." The Overlord spoke somewhat diabolically, but, it was masked by his sheer politeness, and consideration for Nocturne's scenario. He was the founder of the small island-nation, but took pride in its prosperity, and potential.

Nocturne felt a small upheaval in her stomach as she vanished from her current surroundings and reappeared in the lush courtyard. She stumbled on her feet, before a second gust of wind caught her and brought her back to her norm. She checked her bags as Overlord spoke to her. He offered her salvation, a chance to be free from these rules and regulations, but than again.. no matter where she went she wasn't truly free at all. I thank you for the offer, Overlord.... but my place is here, with my fellow X-Men.. It's what Daddy would want from me.. At the mention of her father she forced a smile onto her face, and looked up at Overlord, with an almost pleading look, as if she was trying to force him to understand her position with that minute stare. Placing the bags over her shoulders she turned to the man and extended a hand for a shake. I had an interesting time with you today, Overlord. I thank you for your hospitality.

Overlord wasn't displeased with Nocturne's response, he had admired her loyalty, or sense of duty to her fellow X-Men. It wasn't until the mention of her father, that Overlord suspected it was perhaps her duty to her father, and not the X-Men themselves. A question came to mind... Who exactly is her father? A mutant, perhaps - or perhaps not. "If you don't mind me asking... Who exactly is your father? It's odd for an ordinary human-being to allow their child to associate herself with Mutants, and openly use her Mutant power; assuming your father is an ordinary man?" Overlord spoke interestingly, it was a little more then curiosity. He waited patiently for Nocturne to answer him before walking back in the direction of the Lorenis Institute. It was during the same moment, that a young male Student looked up and noticed Overlord standing next to Nocturne off in the distance of the courtyard. The child began running in the direction of the school, a look of worriment on his face.

Caylin's handshake was ignored and a very dark subject was brought up in it's stead. Her head dropped and she looked forward towards the school and saw Ricky jump up from his seat and run towards the school. My Father..... is Donald Blake, respectable business man, It's because of him that my powers exist... I inherited them directly from him, even though he isn't a mutant himself. Maybe you know of him? She didn't bring up her fathers true name, she wasn't sure what untold hell he'd unleash in this revealing, she thought that Overlord was smart enough to pick up certain clues to try and give her any help at all. With the headmaster of the institute gone, the only person that knew her true secret was gone from this world, and it was scary knowing that once again she was alone.

Overlord's interests were peaked at the mention of this businessman. There was quite a lot of speculation about him, even some to a point of religious regard. "Ah, yes. Donald Blake, a very profitable man." Overlord paused. "An old friend of mine warned me never to make a deal with such a man... And, I think I now understand why." Overlord indirectly informed Nocturne of his knowledge in relation to Donald Blake, and his true identity. It all made sense since Nocturne had inherited her powers from a non-Mutant, meaning, that he was of another kind, his daughter as well. Understanding exactly who Overlord was speaking to, he knew he could one day perhaps use the girl to further a more diabolical agenda - though, he'd save any sort of discussion in relation to it for a later time. Overlord finally shook Nocturne's hand. "I believe I've become unwelcome suddenly. Know that my offer still stands, you are always welcome in Terra Hereditas." He reminded her of his original proposal. One of the Instructors kept a close eye on Overlord, and soon he'd be leaving. There was little time for more discussion, if he remained for any longer he would most likely arouse a fight.

"What are you doing with Nocturne?" The X-Men questioned Overlord, she looked at him with her sharp green eyes, it was clear that she was a stern woman who aimed to protect those who served the dream of Professor Lorenis; a Squad Captain most likely. Everything appeared fine to her outwardly... But, it was suspicious when an X-Men was acting so closely associated to Overlord. The young, red-headed boy, Ricky hid behind the strong woman looking worriedly at Nocturne.

Nocturne, realized that Overlord knew something about her father, but not enough to realize the gravity of the situation. She was snapped back as Ms. Deign ran forward with Ricky behind her. She didn't address Caylin by first name, still playing the protector. It's okay, Ms. Deign... He just carried me home. It was past curfew and I didn't want to be any later, so he obliged to take me here, no harm done on anyone's part. She tried to increase the peace in the situation, but her teachers, rage-filled eyes were enough to silence her. She waved goodbye to Overlord as she stepped over towards Ms. Deign and Ricky. Ms Deign's eyes began glowing with an icy white as she glared at Overlord. She was about to start a fight, with someone she couldn't possibly beat, and Nocturne didn't want to see her get hurt. Please... can we just forget about it? I'm willing to take my punishment... just don't do this.

Ms. Deign had seemingly ignored Nocturne's pleas for some sort of peaceful arrangement. "There is more to it then you know, Nocturne." Ms. Deign spoke to Nocturne sternly. "Righteous, please escort Nocturne back to the Institution." Ms. Deign asked her fellow X-Man to bring Nocturne inside the school. Overlord remained still, looking into the icy white eyes of the X-Man he was capable of recognizing. She had been one of the more experienced X-Men among her fellow Mutants, and Overlord could tell that she had been training. "I am not here to challenge the X-Men, Aurora." Overlord turned around, and his long purple cape followed his swaying turn as he continued walking in the opposite direction of the Institution. Before he could leave the scene, Aurora unleashed two large ice-spikes at Overlord's position, it was clear she was angry with Overlord. Overlord turned his body around ever so slightly, as he stretched out his arm before the ice-spikes could hit him, and kept them motionless in the air with ease. "Where is my mother?!" She demanded to know, clearly this was more personal. A fellow X-Men approached Aurora, who was known by the Students as Ms. Deign. Overlord let go of his grip on the two large icicles as they crashed onto the surface of the ground. "I wouldn't know, now would I?" Overlord replied. Suddenly Aurora's eyes burst a crystal blue color, and around her fists was empowered ice. Before she could unleash her wrath, her fellow X-Men [a man in his late 20's] held her back. "Stop this now, Aurora!" The X-Man ordered. "B-But he took my mother! He has to have been the one!" She cried out as her fellow X-Men comforted her. "I bid you farewell, X-Men. Until next time." In a flash Overlord teleported away from the Institution.

(OOC: Alright, my character has left the thread.)

Nocturne was sat down on her bed, as 3 counselors began barraging her with lecture after lecture. The barraging lasted until the early morning, and even students stuck their heads into her room to listen to the war. She sat there, with an emotionless face, absorbing everything they had to say, she took the restrictions, the punishment, even the phyiscal harm done by some of the more emotional teachers. After everything was done however, she made her way to the kitchen, and began baking the cake that she had been planning since this morning. It took her an hour to finish, even with the other students coming to ask about her, and insult her. When it was all over, she sat down at the dinner table alone, and ate a slice of her vegan cake. Happy Birthday.

(I'm done here)
